The Project
This is the project was based around the idea that not all animation is one long narrative, but often a series of parts to a whole. We were instructed to pick a design conference, festival, or event and to create an introduction, and two speaker introduction animation videos at 10 seconds in length. I chose to do Typecon because it allowed me the freedom to choose a style and treatment unlike a lot of other options. I conducted research, logo design, and storyboards and presented them to the class for feedback. Ultimately, the critiques and process led to the final videos. Everything was designed and thought out before actual animation build happened. From placement and movement to music and sound design. Music was an integral part in the making and motion within my three videos. The glitch effect paired with a classical style dubstep added a fun style and feel to the overall videos.
Convention Introduction
Turn on sound. Each letter is timed with the music to further connect and time the video.
Convention Introduction One
Turn on sound. The sound adds to the timing of the video and where objects come in and go out.
Convention Introduction Two
Turn on sound. The music allows time for the animation to build upon itself and further the animation until completion.
